Peripheral Vision

Alienware, former makers of some of the heaviest laptops on the market, have come up with a curved screen you can  even see it in action here. I heard about it before CES and was imagining this wonderful screen that encloses the user.  This could be a HUGE boon for gaming but seeing it through the video and the images onlie it just doesn't make much sense. I mean how awesome would it be for a screen to curve all the way around so that even in your peripheral vision you saw the video game? Answer: VERY! That is true immersion into the world you would literally surrounded by the gaming world or a movie. 

This is not that. Instead it takes three reasonably sized screens and curves them in slightly. Sure its neat and hopefully a harbinger of what the future will bring. But that's is all; its just something that is interesting, it does not seem to be something terribly useful. I like to think of it more like a proof of concept.
